Good Friday Walk
GOOD FRIDAY WALK : 18TH APRIL 2025
This year the Benefice Good Friday Service is at St. Margaret’s Church, Underriver, at 11.15 am.
Each year the service is preceded by a walk, with the Cross, from one of our
Churches to the other. This year the walk will start from St. Lawrence Church, Stone Street, and pass through the lovely countryside of the Ightham Mote estate to reach Underriver, and we will arrive at St. Margaret’s Church in time for Hot cross buns before the service. The route is just over 3 miles but, in this direction, has the advantage of being mostly downhill! On our way we stop several times for a reading, or, possibly, to sing! Hopefully the bluebells will be in flower this year.
The walk is always a lovely occasion. Why not join us, work up an appetite for the hot cross buns, chat to friends, old and new, enjoy the outdoors, and prepare for Easter?
Please meet at the lychgate at St. Lawrence Church at 9am. (Suggest team up with friends and have a car at each church for return journey). Wear strong footwear or boots as it is often muddy. Bring a waterproof if weather forecast suggests need.
